FIRST-TIME SETUP

Set up Wander on your Mac.

Install and approve the Mac app first. Then connect your Wander account. The installer will guide you through the iPhone steps afterward.

You need an Apple Silicon Mac running macOS 14 or later, working internet, and the Wander-Installer.dmg file you downloaded or were sent.

ON YOUR MAC

Install it before opening it.

  1. Sign in to your Wander account on this Mac and click Download for Mac. Your account needs access to Wander.
  2. Open Wander-Installer.dmg from your Downloads folder.
  3. Drag Wander Installer onto the Applications folder in that window.
  4. Open Finder → Applications → Wander Installer. Open this installed copy, rather than the app inside the DMG.
Mac says “Not Opened” or “Apple could not verify”?
  1. Click Done or Cancel to close the warning. Keep the app.
  2. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security.
  3. Scroll to Security and click Open Anyway beside Wander Installer. Confirm with Touch ID or your Mac password, then click Open.
  4. If another warning appears, return to Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway again, then confirm Open. You may need to approve it twice during first launch; wait for each prompt rather than double-clicking.
  5. Use the Applications copy afterward. A changed build may need approval again.

You're ready for step 2 when the Wander sign-in window opens. You can eject the DMG.

IN WANDER ON YOUR MAC

Connect your Wander account.

  1. Click Sign in with your browser.
  2. Use Google or your Wander email and password. Create a Wander account if you don't have one.
  3. Click Connect this Mac, then Open Wander Installer if your browser asks. Return to the installer.

Already signed in on the website? Just click Connect this Mac. Keep the Mac app open.

Using an email code instead?

Choose Use an email code instead inside the installer. Enter the 8-digit code sent to your email. This is your Wander login; Apple may ask for a separate verification code later.

Mac setup is complete when Wander says “Connect your iPhone.” Follow the checklist in the installer from here.

ON YOUR IPHONE

Download LocalDevVPN from the App Store.

  1. Wait for Installed and paired on the Mac. If Developer Mode is requested, turn it on in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security, restart, confirm Turn On, then finish pairing on the Mac.
  2. If Wander says Untrusted Developer, go to Settings → General → VPN & Device Management → your Apple Account → Trust.
  3. On your iPhone, download LocalDevVPN from the App Store, then return to Wander. Wander turns it on automatically when you set a location. Approve any VPN permission prompt if asked.
  4. Open Wander and complete the first-launch checklist. Wi-Fi or another phone's hotspot is recommended for the initial setup files.
  5. On cellular, choose Set location or Drive. When Wander says Turn data off, turn it off. Wander detects the change and connects automatically. When it says You're good to go. Turn data back on., you can switch data on again.

For updates, return to your account and download the latest installer. Open the new Applications copy and choose Reinstall on iPhone. Updates are included; you don't need to buy again.
